Resistance 2: Open Beta launches on PlayStation Network
Seize your chance to play the eagerly-awaited follow-up to Resistance: Fall of Man on PlayStation Network before its November launch!
Gamers eagerly awaiting the launch of Resistance 2 for PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) this November will have an opportunity to not only see the game but play early. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) and developers Insomniac Games announced the launch of a competitive online Open Beta event powered by PlayStation Network. The event will allow PS3 owners the opportunity to be the first to explore new levels, modes and weapons – as well as provide Insomniac Games and SCEE with feedback on the game.
Ted Price, President & CEO of Insomniac Games, commented:
"Resistance 2 is Insomniac’s most ambitious game yet. The team's goals from the onset have been to heighten the online experience and encourage experienced and novice players to jump online. With an eight-player, co-op campaign and 60-player squad-based competitive multiplayer, Resistance 2 offers players a complete online experience on a scale like no other. We really value the feedback of the Resistance community and are extremely excited to open the Multiplayer Demo and provide our dedicated fan base with an early look at Resistance 2’s multiplayer features."
The sequel to 2007’s critically-acclaimed shoot-up Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2 sees Nathan Hale back on his home turf, taking the fight to the foe. The game’s multiplayer modes are set to make a huge impact. Co-operative play allows eight-player squads to undertake a fully independent online campaign built specifically for co-op play, with players choosing from three different character class types: Soldier, Specialist and Medic. Players can also look forward to vast 60-person online battles in which they join squads with distinct battlefield objectives and fight it out together on PlayStation Network. The combination of squad objectives and large player-count will give Resistance 2 the perfect blend of epic battlefield chaos and intimate close-quarters combat.
Enter Resistance 2’s vision of a devastated 1950s America for the first time and find out just what you can bring to the battle.
