The Enemies of Resistance 3
If you played Resistance: Fall of Man, you’ll be familiar with the Hybrid, the auger-wielding Steelhead, the small but vicious Leaper, the Titan, the Stalker and the Goliath – but you won’t have encountered these new fearsome foes:
Ravager
A large, heavily armoured creature that wields a powerful energy shield to defend themselves and others. Watch out for Ravagers forming the front line of a defence by standing side-by-side in a shield wall.
Grim
Zombie-like creatures that appear to be half-converted humans, the ferocious, scrawny and apparently mindless Grims hunt in packs. They swarm their enemies and attack with claws and teeth. If you meet one, you can be sure there are more around the corner.
Chameleon
A feared and deadly Chimeran variant that can become virtually invisible at will, Chameleons are often only detectable through secondary signs such as the sound of their footsteps – until they attack with their vicious, two-foot long and razor sharp claws, shredding their targets.
Leech
A strange form of Chimera that generates an energy field capable of causing significant damage from a distance. Some leeches are even believed to self-detonate with the aim of taking several enemies with them.
Mauler
This gigantic beast is primarily used to haul equipment but makes a fearsome foe nonetheless. In combat, it sprays superheated saliva, similar to napalm – and can cough up a pod from its throat that sends out sticky tendrils which infect anything they touch.
Hunter and Attack Drones
One step up from Patrol Drones, flying Hunter Drones are used as sentries and are often deployed to eliminate small pockets of civilian resistance. Soldiers are more likely to meet Attack Drones: heavy flying drones that carry a tough shield to protect themselves and attacking Chimera troops.
Leviathan (Boss)
The largest creature ever to have walked on Earth, the Leviathan stands 300 feet tall and is capable of demolishing a 20-storey building with a single swipe of its vast fist. Its origin is unclear but its impact on the battlefield is unmistakable.
